<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Some studies support the involvement of vitamin D in modulating the inflammatory response and developing diabetes. Since the activation of inflammatory biomarkers, cytokines and pathways interferes with normal metabolism and disrupts proper insulin signaling and insulin resistance, it is hypothesized that vitamin D could influence lipid and glucose homeostasis by modulating inflammatory response and renin-angiotensin system. In this review discussed the mechanisms of the influence of vitamin D on metabolic disease.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>витамин D</kwd><kwd>сахарный диабет</kwd><kwd>инсулинорезистентность</kwd><kwd>метаболический синдром</kwd><kwd>ожирение</kwd><kwd>артериальное давление</kwd><kwd>ренин-ангиотензиновая система</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>vitamin D</kwd><kwd>type 2 diabetes</kwd><kwd>insulin resistance</kwd><kwd>metabolic disease</kwd><kwd>blood pressure</kwd><kwd>renin-angiotensin system</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">DeLuca HF.
